Officially launched on 15 February 2007, Nusajaya is one of the five flagship zones of Iskandar Malaysia – a 550,000-acre economic corridor three times the size of Singapore. Iskandar Malaysia is envisioned to become a sustainable metropolis of international standing by 2025.

Spanning 24,000 acres, Nusajaya is undisputedly the largest urban integrated development in Southeast Asia

Nusajaya is strategically located in the epicenter of the new economic Asia. Nusajaya's strategic location and proximity to Singapore provides immense potential for economic growth. Nusajaya is served by two international airports and five seaports for what is arguably the best connectivity in Southeast Asia.

Nusajaya is planned as a sustainable city. Inspired by the best the world has to offer, Nusajaya is planned, designed and intended as a new type of city where the social and community areas plus intrinsic needs such as safety and security, transportation, convenience and enriched lifestyle are part and parcel of an integrated master plan. Five years on and Nusajaya is already a benchmark for other cities around the world. The Nusajaya Safety and Security Master Plan is the first in the world to be developed on such a scale and magnitude.

The thrusts of Nusajaya's development are signature and catalytic developments aligned with the identified sectors and industries in the 10th Malaysia Plan. They are sectors and industries such as Government, tourism and leisure, education, creative, healthcare and wellness, business and industry, commerce and finance as well as property and infrastructure. These signature and catalytic developments are designed to enrich the quality of life and living experience. Developments such as EduCity™ and LEGOLAND® are also identified Entry Point Projects in the Government's Economic Transformation Plan.

UEM Sunrise and Iskandar Investment are the major forces behind Nusajaya's remarkable success. These two entities work closely with Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), local authorities, other developers and local as well as global investment partners with the distinct objective to deliver the singular most ambitious development project the nation has witnessed. Spanning 24,000 acres, Nusajaya is undisputedly the largest urban integrated development in Southeast Asia and is envisioned as the nation's most modern, connected and liveable city.

For Nusajaya, it had been about staying true to its vision. The past few years have seen a marked increase in the number of strategic partners coming on board; the developments launched and completed; and the investors committing to ventures in various key sectors of Nusajaya.
