A grant of RM230,000 was provided for Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, the top ranked university in Malaysia, to draw up the Nusajaya Environment Master Plan in November 2008. The Nusajaya Environment Master Plan – now called the Nusajaya Green Plan, outlines the strategies, approach and implementation plan for responsible and sustainable development in Nusajaya with an emphasis on creating the best practical balance between economic, social and environmental considerations. It also outlines Nusajaya's relationship with the adjacent Sungai Pulai RAMSAR site.ROSE Initiatives
The philosophy of the Nusajaya Green Plan, integrated prevention and improvement is encapsulated in the ROSE concept and applied in the overall development of Nusajaya.
In line with this concept, various strategic initiatives have been carried out.
Reduce involves optimizing the scale of activities and lifestyle to lessen the demand on resources
Offset measures involve augmenting environmental services or paying for their reduction elsewhere
Substitute maintains the same scale of activities and lifestyle by using goods, services and processes that require less demand on resources
Enhancement refers to improving environmental services or functions provided by areas within Nusajaya
